Abstract
Antibiotic neurotoxicity is rare but can cause significant morbidity when it occurs. The risk of antibiotic neurotoxicity appears to be highest in patients who are older, have impaired renal function, or have preexisting neurologic conditions. This review describes the clinical features of the most common antibiotic toxicities affecting the nervous system: seizures, encephalopathy, optic neuropathy, peripheral neuropathy, and exacerbation of myasthenia gravis.Entities:
