Figure 3Correlations of waist circumference and BMI in US Caucasian and Asian Indian men. The corresponding R 2 value for women of NHANES III was 0.85, in comparison to 0.31 for CURES women. The R 2 across the other two NHANES III race/ethnic groups for men and women ranged from 0.81 to 0.88.
