Abstract
Recent years have seen a great advance in knowledge of how a host senses infection. Nucleic acids, as a common denominator to all pathogens, are at the centre of several of the sensing pathways, especially those involved with the recognition of viruses. In this review we discuss the current knowledge on how intracellular DNA is sensed by the mammalian host.Entities:
