Abstract
Long noncoding RNAs are becoming increasingly appreciated as major players in gene regulation. They have been reported to play diverse roles in many biological processes. Here, we discuss their discovery, features, and known functions in cells. While not comprehensive, this chapter should serve to illustrate the power and promise of studying long noncoding RNAs.Entities:
