Abstract
Idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss (ISSHL) is the sudden loss of unilateral hearing of unknown etiology. The standard treatment consist of a high dose oral steroid taper. This article serves to review the current literature on intratympanic steroid injections for ISSHL. Current literature suggested intratympanic steroids are equivalent to oral steroid therapy, primary combined therapy is superior to either alone and intratympanic steroids should be offered for salvage therapy in ISSHL.Entities:
