Abstract
OBJECTIVE: About 24.1% of pregnant women suffer from at least 1 anxiety disorder, 8.5% of whom suffer specifically from generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). GAD is often associated with major depressive disorder (MDD). During the perinatal period, the presence of physical and somatic symptoms often makes differentiation between depression and anxiety more challenging. To date, no screening tools have been developed to detect GAD in the perinatal population. We investigated the psychometric properties of the GAD 7-item Scale (GAD-7) as a screening tool for GAD in pregnant and postpartum women.Entities:

Two scoring methods were analyzed for the GHQ-28 scale, including normal GHQ scoring (rating each item on a bimodal scale 0-0 to 1-1) and C-GHQ scoring (using a rating of 0-0 to 1-1 for positive items and 0-1 to 1-1 for negative items).
