Abstract
INTRODUCTION: Platelet indices, including mean platelet volume (MPV), are readily available blood tests, although their prognostic value in patients with septic shock has not been fully explored. Current evidence has found contradictory results. This study aims to explore the behavior of platelet indices in septic shock and their clinical prognostic value.Entities:

PLT means the value of the mean value. PLT1, PLT2,PLT3, PLT4, PLT5 represent the values of day 1, day 2, day 3, day 4 and day 5 respectively. PLTlast2 and PLTlast1 represent the values of the penultimate and last day of hospital stay. The other platelet indices go as the same way.
