[Emergencies in otorhinolaryngology: etiologic study].

Abstract

The paper deals on an epidemiologic survey of 5,649 patients calling for facilities at the Emergency area of the E.N.T.-Department of the University Hospital, of Barcelona. The cases were codified to avoid overlapping as follows: Age, Sex, Day of the week and Month of the year, urging for medical care, etiology and seriousness of the illness, and at last, the degree of adequacy of the Emergency ward for the service required. With all the collected data the AA, guess about the adequacy in each case for the patient's admission at the Emergency Unit.
