Note: Three different models were used to estimate the rate ratio of AIDS incidence in Niteroi city/Rio de Janeiro. In the first model, we used Poisson regression and included the factors “sex, age and period.” In the second and third models we used the Negative Binomial models, which included, respectively, the factors “sex, age and birth-cohort” and “sex, birth-cohort and period”.
