Sir,We read the case report, tuberculosis verrucosa cutis presenting as diffuse plantar keratoderma: An unusual sight, by Ghosh, et al.[1] with great interest. The authors have reported a rare occurrence of tuberculosis verrucosa cutis presenting as plantar keratoderma. We have a few comments regarding this.Tuberculosis verrucosa cutis is a known rare cause of acquired palmoplantar keratoderma.[2] In a study from south India, four cases of tuberculosis verrucosa cutis presenting as palmoplantar keratodermas have been reported.[3] Three cases including a child had involvement of soles, while one adult male presented as palmar keratoderma. Hence, we wish to highlight that tuberculosis verrucosa cutis, although rare, is an established cause of palmoplantar keratoderma, and not the first report as suggested.
