Medical and surgical advances are prolonging the lives of children with congenital heart disease (CHD), who are now living into adulthood. Physician assistants are well-positioned to play an integral role in supporting the transition of patients with CHD from pediatric to adult medical care, thereby reducing patients' risk of adverse outcomes.
