Abstract
The assessment of disease location, severity, and complications is critical in guiding the choice of Crohn's disease therapy. Cross-sectional imaging studies have therefore had a paramount role in accurately staging Crohn's disease. Traditionally, computed tomography was the test of choice in confirming/excluding strictures, fistulae, and abscesses. Magnetic resonance imaging is now replacing computed tomography because it eliminates radiation risks. This review provides a primer for the gastroenterologist on magnetic resonance enterography in Crohn's disease.Entities:
