Use of inhibitory, weight-bearing plasters to increase movement in the presence of spasticity.

L Ada1, D Scott2.

Abstract

Spasticity of central origin following brain-damage prevents efficient functional movement. Inhibitory weight-bearing plasters can be applied to allow the patient to learn to move more normally while the spasticity is being controlled. This article is a summary of a case study where weight-bearing plasters were used with good results.
