| Seizure group | Fulfill at least one of the following:
Alleged epilepsy with history of previous recurrent stereotypic seizure-like movements First attack fulfilling at least one of the following
Epileptogenic lesion on MRI Interictal or ictal epileptiform discharges on EEG Observed and monitored seizures by medical personnel |
| Syncope group | Fulfill all the following criteria
No epileptiform discharge on EEG Prolonged prodromes (such as visual dimness, narrowing, and general weakness) or triggers compatible with VVS (emotional tension, prolonged standing and frightening) Positive isoproterenol head-up tilt table test |
