Drowning deaths: a cross-analysis of external cause and nature of injury codes.

A Brancker.

Abstract

Drowning deaths in Canada are registered using two types of codes. "E" codes indicate underlying or external cause of death, while "N" codes indicate nature of injury. This paper shows that a cross-analysis of the two codes overcomes the limitations of using either code alone.
