Multi-odour memory influenced by learning order.

L Kaiser1, R De Jong.

Abstract

Behavioural responses to odours delivered in an olfactometer prove that Leptopilina boulardi (Hymenoptera: Eucoilidae), a parasitic wasp of Drosophila larvae, is able to memorize three different odours which have been associated successively with oviposition experience. They exhibit differential responses which depend on the order of learning and also on the nature of the odours because an experience with one odour can influence the insect's response to another one.
