Dear Editor Gupta et al.,[1] in their article titled “Bilateral intraocular dirofilariasis” have mentioned about surgical removal of motile anterior chamber parasite through paracentesis. A motile worm may be lost or damaged during the surgical removal from anterior chamber. This may cause severe intraocular inflammation and loss of vision.[23] Mehta et al.[4] have suggested chemo-paralysis with 0.3 ml intracameral lignocaine (preservative free) prior to removal of motile anterior chamber parasite. Preservative free 1% Xylocaine is safe[5] for intracameral use.
