Treatment of shortening following hallux valgus surgery.

Abstract

Transfer metatarsalgia is a recognized complication following hallux valgus surgery, usually as a result of shortening of the first metatarsal. In this article, the authors present an overview of the incidence, presentation, and treatment strategies employed in its management.
