Abstract
A case of eyelid gas gangrene caused by Clostridium hastiforme is reported. The infection followed an alkali injury that probably aided proliferation of the organism by inducing local tissue ischemia. Debridement combined with antibiotic therapy controlled the infection, and the large lid defect healed satisfactorily by secondary intention.Entities:
