In response to the review article in Surgery Today: JCOG trials for small adenocarcinomas of the lung.

Abstract

This letter is about the recently published review article on the segmentectomy for lung cancer. We emphasized that any prognostic and functional data on segmentectomy given without fair comparison with lobectomy are not authorized. The best way to get a definitive conclusion is undoubtedly a prospective, randomized study such as JCOG0802/WJOG4607L trial.
