Abstract
Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) is presently the treatment of choice for large or multiple kidney stones or stones in the calyx. PCNL is generally safe and associated with low but indisputable complication rate. Pleural injury in PCNL is a rare but severe complication which can occur during or immediately after operation. Pleural injury may lead to chronic empyema thoracis. Until now no such case has been reported in literature. 2014 BMJ Publishing Group Ltd.Entities:
