Delaying virus maturation for a higher yield of cell associated virus antigens.

Negligible amounts of virus were released when infected cells were maintained in low ionic strength medium. The cells accumulated a high titre of virus and its specific antigenic proteins, detected by complement-fixation test. The procedure has potential for production of virus subunit vaccines.
