Abstract
The ability of the extracellular matrix protein laminin to regulate the survival and differentiation of neurons has led to the search for a neuronal laminin receptor. This article reviews the evidence for the existence of laminin receptors, and then goes on to discuss the difficulties in making the jump from a pharmacological demonstration of the receptor to its molecular identification.Mesh:
