Evaluating the contributions of culture and cultural fit in evidence-based programs: a commentary.

Velma McBride Murry1.

Abstract

This commentary provides a critical review of the articles in this special section. The extent to which culture and cultural fit are active ingredients for developing and establishing culturally robust preventive interventions for children and families of color are considered. Implications of research in this area for determining how to effectively capture the nuances of culture in family-based preventive interventions are noted.
