Abstract
This SnapShot illustrates the main concepts and underlying biology of therapeutic vaccination in cancer. Dendritic cells (DCs) are an essential component of vaccination through their capacity to capture, process, and present antigens to T cells. We have come a long way in our understanding of what is needed to elicit therapeutic immunity when cancer escapes the natural barrier of protective immunity.
