Abstract
We investigated three nosocomial Candida quercitrusa candidemia cases occurring within 2 months in a Chinese hospital. Isolates were identifiable only by DNA sequencing of the rRNA genes. Genetic (via random amplified polymorphic DNA [RAPD]) and protein mass spectral (via matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry [MALDI-TOF MS]) analyses yielded identical profiles suggesting an outbreak.
