Abstract
BACKGROUND: Seborrheic dermatitis (SD) and Parkinson's disease (PD) are frequently associated conditions. Aims of this study were: to determine severity of SD, presence of different species and density of Malassezia yeasts; to assess yeast lipases and phosphatases production in vitro and to compare these results between SD patients with and without PD.Entities:

Figure 1Pictures of isolated on culture. Colony forming unit’s per tape (CFU/tape) expressed low density of Malassezia yeasts isolated on Leeming-Notman agar (LNA) from non-lesional skin (NLS) in healthy controls (HC) (A); high density of Malassezia yeasts isolated on Dixon agar from lesional skin (LS) in Parkinson disease (PD) (B) and identification of Malassezia by Tween assimilation test (C).
