Better MS services.

Jennifer Trueland.

Abstract

Disease modifying therapies (DMYs) can prevent relapses in people with multiple sclerosis, but access to these drugs varies across the UK. Patients who have a specialist nurse are more than twice as likely to be prescribed DMYs. In Northern Ireland, where prescribing rates are high, an integrated healthcare system and nurse-led-clinic deliver a high quality service.
