[Chlorophyll as a photoreceptor in the low light movement of the mesotaenium chloroplast].

Abstract

Light induced movement of the chloroplast ofMesotaenium caldariorum has been investigated. Action spectra indicate that the onset of the chloroplast movement is mainly controlled by light absorbed in the chlorophylls (a and b) whereas in the second phase of chloroplast movement phytochrome plays a part beside the chlorophylls.
