Staining of sieve tube mitochondria in coleoptiles of rice (Oryza sativa L.) with diaminobenzidine.

Abstract

Diaminobenzidine has been used to locate sites of oxidizing cytochromes in rice coleoptiles. The mitochondria of mature sieve tubes show a positive reaction which to visual inspection appears as strong as the reaction of companion cell mitochondria.
