C Cox1, D E Gelfand.

Abstract

This study examines the exchange of services and assistance patterns of Hispanic, Portuguese and Vietnamese elderly with their children. The results indicate that the patterns of assistance vary significantly between groups. Parental expectations and satisfaction also varied. Overall familial interaction patterns and their relation to acculturation and the demands of immigration are discussed.
