Effective treatment of malignant pleural effusions.

I S Fentiman.

Abstract

Pleural effusions are a common complication of malignant disease. Inadequate treatment results in a need for recurrent aspirations, repeated hospitalization, and risk of loculation of the effusion. Effective local treatments are available which will relieve the distressing symptom of breathlessness.
