Abstract

(Z,Z)-3,13-Octadecadien-1-ol1a is identified as the sex pheromone from the poplar pole clearwing moth,Sphecia siningensis Hsu, by GCMS analysis, synthesis, EAG, and field bioassay. Species isolation among Sesiidae by pheromone is also discussed.
