Prospects of antifeedant approach to pest control - A critical review.

T Jermy1.

Abstract

The increasing efforts to develop environmentally safer pest control methods have attracted the attention of many authors towards the use of antifeedants. This review is a critical survey of the most important publications issued during the 1980s, especially dealing with sensory physiological and behavioral studies, structure-activity aspects, screening methods, sources of antifeedants, and aspects of practical application. Important but neglected areas of research as well as future tasks are stressed.
