Abstract
I expect that every reader of this Journal is only too familiar with seeing an elderly patient, male more commonly than female, who is admitted with a gangrenous leg. Younger subjects, in their twenties and thirties, are fortunately much less common; the majority of these are severe and poorly controlled diabetics. I very much doubt if any of you, unless you work in a specialised vascular unit, have seen in this age group an example of thromboangiitis obliterans, more commonly called Buerger's disease.Entities:
