Measuring calcium uptake and inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate-induced calcium release in cerebellum microsomes using Fluo-3.

F Michelangeli1.

Abstract

A simple fluorimetric method is presented for measuring calcium uptake and inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (InsP3)-induced calcium release in microsomes using Fluo-3. This method is used to investigate the amplitude of calcium release (quantal release) induced by InsP3 from rat cerebellum microsomes.
