Genetics of resistance to red pumpkin beetle (A ulacophora foveicollis) in summer squash (Cucurbita pepo L.).

Abstract

Resistance to red pumpkin beetle in summer squash was found to be controlled by polygenes. Diallel and Triple test cross analysis revealed the preponderance of non-additive and additive gene effects for resistance respectively. Absence of epistasis for resistance was indicated by both tests.
