Abstract
Berberine production in cell suspension cultures of Thalictrum minus L. var. hypoleucum Miq. was significantly enhanced by administration of spermidine, whereas other polyamines such as cadaverine, putrescine and spermine were ineffective. The results of experiments indicated that spermidine causes an increase of ethylene generation which is closely associated with activation of berberine biosynthesis.Entities:
