A method for enumerating protozoa in a variety of freshwater habitats.

B M Baldock1.

Abstract

A method for enumerating protozoa (ciliates, flagellates, and amoebae) in fine, freshwater sediments is described. The results, using fixed material, are compared with two published techniques: a culture method (most probable number) and a direct count method.
