Abstract
Multiple options are available for the fixation of metacarpal and phalangeal fractures; treatment options depend largely on the fracture characteristics, concomitant injuries, and surgeon preference. With an understanding of the options available and the biomechanics involved, appropriate treatment options may be chosen. Although plate and screw constructs provide the strongest fixation for these fractures, many other techniques provide adequate fixation and may be favored for reasons other than biomechanics.Entities:
