Some copper coordination compounds and their antiinflammatory and antiulcer activities.

J R Sorenson1.

Abstract

The anti-inflammatory and antiulcer activities of some copper complexes are presented. Data are provided to show that copper complexes of the clinically used antiarthritic drugs are more potent as antiinflammatory agents, less toxic than the parent compounds, and have potent antiulcer activity. Mechanistic aspects of their biological activities are also discussed in support of their clinical utility.
