Abstract
The authors present the features and discuss the characteristics and the distribution of osteoid osteoma (O.O.) of the upper limb. The importance of this study pertains to the rare incidence at this site, and the variability of the symptomatology. The surgical management is described with particular reference to the choice and the indications for treatment. The rare incidence of osteoid osteoma at this site brings aut the need not only for very accurate diagnostic investigation requiring routine radiology and scintigraphy, but most paticularly computed tomography. The latter is required not only to identify and define the lesion, but also to plan the surgical approach. The authors report six cases in which as a result of early diagnosis they were successful in total eredication of the lesion resulting in definitive cure in each case.Entities:
