Abstract
BACKGROUND: Non-homologous end joining (NHEJ) is the main repair pathway for DNA double strand breaks (DSBs) induced by ionizing radiation in mammalian cells. Subsets of cancer patients are hypersensitive to radiotherapy after standard doses. We sought to determine the radiosensitivity of human lymphoblastic cells (LB0005) for the abnormality in NHEJ components.Entities:

Real time PCR was carried out using TaqMan gene expression system. Expression of DNA-PKcs transcript in each cell line was first normalized against their GAPDH expression. The relative expression of DNA-PKcs was then expressed as a ratio to that of control cells (SNC3). (C) DNA-PKcs is phosphorylated upon γ-irradiation (0Gy or 10Gy).
