Abstract
PURPOSE: Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) has been implicated in lung cancer risk and response to platinum-based chemotherapy in advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, the results are controversial. We performed meta-analysis to investigate the effect of MTHFR C677T polymorphism on lung cancer risk and response to platinum-based chemotherapy in advanced NSCLC.Entities:

Characteristics of the 19 Case-Controls Included in the Meta-Analysis
HWE, Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium; RFLP, restriction fragment length polymorphism; PCR, polymerase chain reaction.
*Any disparity in total number of patients is due to missing genotypes.
The Characteristics of the 3 Studies Which Assessed the Response Rate and MTHFR C677T Polymorphism
MTHFR, methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase; CR, complete responders; PR, partial responders; RFLP, restriction fragment length polymorphism; PCR, polymerase chain reaction; SD, stable disease; PD, progressive disease.
*Number of CT and CC.
Stratified Analysis Results of MTHFR C677T on Lung Cancer Risk
SNP, single nucleotide polymorphisms; OR, odds ratio; CI, confidence interval.
*Include Chinese mainland and Taiwan island.
