Abstract
Os acromiale is a common finding in shoulder surgery. We review the anatomy, prevalence, pathophysiology, and treatment options for this diagnosis. In addition, we report on a case series of 6 patients with a symptomatic meso os acromiale who were treated with a new technique involving arthroscopic acromioplasty in conjunction with the excision of the acromial nonunion site. We have demonstrated this novel treatment method to be a safe and effective technique in this case series. This arthroscopic partial resection of an os acromiale is considered to be an alternative option for treating a symptomatic meso os acromiale.Entities:
