Abstract
An analytical model of the dynamic characteristics of an axially polarized multilayer piezoelectric/elastic composite cylindrical transducer is proposed in this paper. Based on the plane stress assumption, the dynamic analytical solution of the transducer under an external harmonic voltage load is obtained, and the electric admittance is also derived analytically. Inherent properties of the transducer, such as resonance and anti-resonance frequencies, are presented and discussed. In addition, comparisons with other related investigations are also given, and good agreement is found. The present investigation is very helpful for the design of axially polarized multilayer piezoelectric/elastic composite cylindrical transducers, which can be used in applications related to ultrasonic and underwater sound waves.Year: 2013 PMID: 24081268 DOI: 10.1109/TUFFC.2013.2810
