Abstract
Single-incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS) has recently increased in number. A systematic review of English-language literature from 2009 to 2011 was performed to evaluated the feasibility and outcomes of SILS for various indications in children. Our study reports seven previously published studies of 218 cases. There were insignificant differences in operative time and length of hospital stay of SILS when compared to multiport laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Despite SILS is a more challenging technique to perform, it is a safe and feasible alternative for cholecystectomy in children.Entities:
