Abstract
Congenital chylous ascites (CCA) results from maldevelopment of the intra-abdominal lymphatic system. Newborns present with respiratory distress and abdominal distention. Medical treatment of CCA is often prolonged. A newborn with CCA was treated with octreotide, a somatostatin analogue, resulting in rapid and complete resolution of the ascites.Entities:
