Abstract
The single, most basic problem in industrial hygiene at hazardous waste sites is that the materials being handled are of unknown composition. This is almost always true for drum and tank materials at Superfund sites, and frequently true at licensed disposal sites. The consequences of this lack of knowledge, for both the on-site worker and the surrounding community, are reviewed.Mesh:
