Abstract
A case of presacral myelolipoma is presented. The tumor was diagnosed by examining intraoperative touch preparations. Extraadrenal myelolipomas, rare tumors composed of mature fat and hematopoietic tissue, must be distinguished from mass-forming extramedullary hematopoiesis. The use of touch preparations is an important adjunct to the study of frozen sections in the examination of fresh tissue, especially when the tissue is technically unsuitable for cryostat sectioning, as in this case.Entities:
